The protagonist is a middle aged man with a very average life who finds a temporary escape from the mundane, which I think we can all relate to.

This book is about letting go of prejudices and seeing people for who they truly are. The lessons from this book could be applied to the experience of so many marginalized people in our world.
**Lucy/Lucifer was a bit off putting and I debated continuing, but I had heard so many good things about this book. I’m glad I finished it.
